| 英文描述 | Glanders is caused by BURKHOLDERIA MALLEI, a gram-negative aerobic bacillus. It is characterized by nodular lesions in the mouth, upper respiratory tract and skin. The main clinical problem can be pulmonary, nasal, cutaneous or any combination; legs are often affected in the cutaneous form. Glanders is endemic in the Far and Middle East, northern Africa, eastern Mediterranean, and southeastern Europe. Dx by culture by regulatory veterinarian. This is a zoonotic disease. |
